What we’re looking for:
We’re currently looking for a Steel Processor and Yardperson to join our Canberra workshop team.
Ideally, you’ll already have a few years of experience working with steel. You’ll be the first stage of production process, measuring and cutting steel precisely to length according to cutting lists and shop drawings. You’ll be able to use the bandsaws and other power and battery tools such as oxy cutters, angle grinders, and drills. You’ll also be familiar with moving lengths of steel with a forklift and overhead crane and have a good eye for sorting and organisation of steel types.

You’ll need to have a current drivers license, and a forklift ticket is preferable but not essential. This is an opportunity to join a highly productive and creative team who already have exciting and prominent projects in the works. We want you if you’re motivated and skilful, enjoy a supportive fast-paced team, and if you care about the product you’re delivering.

What you’ll get from us:
We do 4-day weeks here at Renrow, so you’ll get a long weekend every weekend. The roster for this position would be Monday-Thursday, 10hr days (40hrs/week), and there’s usually always overtime available if you’d like it. We also pay well, and we understand that there’s more to life than just work.

You’ll get to work on cool projects. Some of the work we’ve delivered includes all of the steel and metalwork in Canberra’s new Manuka Oval Broadcast Centre, Media Tower, and overhead seating canopies around the ground. We recently finished a 3-storey steel and concrete structure at Canberra Hospital as a prefabrication trial project. We’ve also fabricated and installed many decorative multi-storey carpark facades screens, as well as smaller work of a high finish, such as theatre stages for the Canberra Theatre Centre, and architectural steel for award winning houses across Canberra.
