Experienced Project Manager

Renrow Steel is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our Canberra team.

About the role:
Being good at project management requires a variety of skills. You need to be a good communicator, a good listener, a researcher, a designer, a technical expert, an accountant, a lawyer, a leader, and a teammate. Sometimes you need to follow processes and sometimes you need to be creative. You need to be strategic and savvy, but also genuinely good and honest to work with. All of these skills take balance and experience, and the person we’re looking for either has the potential to get there soon, or already knows they have what it takes. We need someone who’s comfortable with the requirements and responsibility of managing a project from start to end with the aim of achieving high quality, positive outcomes for both us and our clients.

Project management is the core of our business. Over the past 10 years, we’ve spent a lot of time learning and implementing processes and systems to support our project management team. We supply and install over a thousand tonnes of steel and aluminium each year across Canberra and Sydney, and each project has different requirements. A project manager at Renrow is responsible for coordinating each of those requirements throughout the project. Our processes are flexible enough to cater for project differences, but rigid enough to support project managers in decision making, and to ensure that high quality outcomes are always possible. We hope that you’ll bring an amount of expertise with you from projects you’ve worked on in the past and we’re excited to learn from you, too. Our project managers are backed by our team of estimators, draftspeople, workshop managers, site managers, finance and HR professionals, as well as our vast network of external consultants. We understand that it takes a lot of consistent effort to do this role well, and that’s why project managers hold one of the most respected roles within our company.

The role is based in our head office in Hume, ACT.

About us:
Our goal is to become a regular supplier to tier one builders. We believe that professional tier one builders set the standard for delivery, process, and documentation expectations, and if we can achieve well with them, we can achieve well with anyone. The core of our business is the supply and installation of steel in various forms, but the innovative nature of our team leads us to take on other projects too. We recently completed a three-storey prefabricated modular concrete building at Canberra Hospital (the first of its type in Canberra), and we’re currently working on several modular timber and CLT projects that complement our existing skillset.

Our team is brimming with energetic people who are excited about what we do. We enjoy being able to see our work when it’s finished and know that our contributions made a difference to the outcome. The leaders of our company care greatly for the growth and happiness of employees from which our company culture is firmly set.
